Program Information

Working with leading corporate partners and member universities, SIFE USA establishes student programs on campuses across the nation.  With the support and encouragement of their SIFE advisors and a local business advisory board, SIFE students apply business concepts to develop community outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need.

The SIFE program is designed to foster an entrepreneurial approach that encourages creativity and resourcefulness.  SIFE teams address a wide variety of issues and rather than mandating a uniform set of projects, teams have the opportunity to work within the SIFE framework while developing projects based on the diverse needs of people in different communities.

By using the business concepts they are learning in the classroom to help others, SIFE students develop stronger business and leadership skills, as well as a sense of service and responsibility to the community and world around them.  Through their experiences, SIFE students are emerging as leaders who understand the opportunity for business to make a positive economic, social and environmental impact.

SIFE Judging Criterion

Considering the relevant economic, social and environmental factors, which SIFE team most effectively empowered people in need by applying business and economic concepts and an entrepreneurial approach to improve their quality of life and standard of living?

The SIFE Judging Criterion provides guidance and focus for the community outreach projects developed by SIFE teams worldwide.  The criterion places strong emphasis on purpose, clearly defining a unique space for SIFE and accentuating our core belief that business can be used to make the world a better place.  While offering a broad-based focus on approach, it also places great emphasis on outcomes.
